The Wineries of the Finger Lakes
The Finger Lakes region of New York boasts the largest concentration of wineries east of California. Close to 100 wineries can be discovered along
Keuka, Seneca,
Cayuga, and Canandaigua lakes. Most of the wineries are open year-round for visitors and some offer tours, special events, and on-site cafes. Because of the micro-climate created by the lakes, many of the vineyards lie within close proximity to the water and have spectacular views.

Watkins Glen State Park
The gorge at Watkins Glen is the best known in the Finger Lakes region. The two-mile trough was scoured by glaciers, creating 19 waterfalls and 300-foot shale and sandstone cliffs.
Foot trails follow the rim of the gorge, some of them blazed centuries ago by Native Americans. Many steep trails have stone steps and pass through caverns behind the waterfalls. The park is an excellent place for backpackers to pick up the Finger Lakes Trail, which traverses the state.
The state park has 300 campsites, active recreation programs and two prime fishing lakes.
Watkins Glen State park is open year-round.
