Recipes

The cherries were wonderful this year! But, now the peaches are ripe and ready for picking. Here's a recipe from long ago. It originated with my husband's grandmother.

Peach Pudding

Peach Pudding is not really a pudding, but more like a cobbler.

Place 2 1/2 cups sliced peaches in a two quart buttered casserole and toss with juice of 1/2 lemon.

Make a batter in a separate bowl by mixing 3 Tbsp. butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup sifted floor, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup milk. Spread this mixture over the peaches. Now sift 3/4 cup of sugar and 1 Tbsp. of cornstarch over the batter. Then pour 1 cup of boiling water over the top of the sugar mixture.

Bake the "pudding" for approximately 1 hour at 350*

Let cool a bit and serve with ice cream or whipped cream. This is yummy and sooo "peachy"!
